We visit the workshop of “akabeko” which are gifted to children with the wish for them to grow healthy. We learn about the symbolism and charms through a painting experience of akabeko made with the traditional papier-mâché method which has continued for 400 years. Next, we inspect Aizu’s symbol “Tsuruga Castle”. We discover the people of Aizu preserves its history and traditions while also having a strong desire to connect it to the future.
