To a midsummer Fukushima,

When there is suddenly a break in the long days full of summer heat, I stop and think ‘Oh it’s nice and cool’

When checking the temperature it’s only 19 degrees!

I can’t help but look up and thank Fukushima’s sky for this wonderful gift.

The quiet mountains rest in the distance watching over the lush green rice paddies. I can’t help falling in love with this scenery, which is one that you cannot experience in larger cities.

The wind is blowing past me whistling, gently brushing my sides as if to tell me to forget about my worries. Nature comes together as if to whisper to me that ‘everything is going to be ok’.

Because there are such hot days, one can appreciate the importance of a brief cool period. I think the same can be said for the people of Fukushima. Because they were faced with such a difficult time, they all understand what a blessing the wonderful nature surrounding them is better than anyone. Fukushima is a place of learning.

I love Fukushima.
