After my three separate visits to Fukushima (average 10 days each trip) since April 16, 2011, I wish to encourage the people of Fukushima to continue with much enthusiasm in their recovery and revitalization efforts and spirit.  In August 2014, I had an excellent experience to attend a very worthy luncheon created by a dozen women from the Soroptimist International of Tamura in Miharu, Fukushima.  These volunteering women invited the public to a home-style cooking, luncheon with fresh vegetable & fruits prepared from their garden and kitchens. They proved that delicious and safe foods from Fukushima can be home grown and prepared.  They also encouraged many younger working homemakers to learn to continue their good work in their independent determination to survive even thou a natural disaster occurred recently in their hometown.  Based on this amazing observation, I wish to commend and encourage these volunteering women to continue their outstanding work.
