HAMA05(Tomioka-machi):Tomioka Requiem(HAMA、NAKA、AIZU!)
We travelled to Tomioka Station. It was quiet, almost as if time had stopped. The crumbling platform. A car swept onto the train tracks. Collapsed buildings.
And...
So many things showing the sheer scale of the disaster. Near the station there was a memorial for Eastern Japan. We picked flowers, adding to the memorial. I have wanted to visit Tomioka town for the longest time. I wanted to visit because I believe that those who are unaware of the pain caused by the disaster have no right to talk about ‘Recovery’. Please let us share Fukushima’s pain, until the day the wounds finally heal. That is the least we can do for those who were lost to the disaster. Rest in peace. |
