06: Shiramizu Amidadō

Shiramizu Amidadō, a famous temple located in Iwaki, is Fukushima Prefectures only structure registered as a national treasure. It was built in 1160 during The Heian Period(794 to 1185 ), by Princess Tokuhime of the Hiraizumi Fujiwara clan.

The temple is located in a beautiful location, surrounded by lakes and gardens, making a wonderful place to relax, and enjoy the nature.

Unfortunately photos of the indside of the temple are not permitted, but this will hopefully leave you with something to look forward to if you ever get the chance to visit.

After paying our respects to the many Buddhist gods enshrined in the temple, we took a group photo, and then headed back to the bus. This marked the end of the tour, and after a long bus ride, we found ourselves back in Koriyama, and then later Fukushima City.

A big thanks to all of those who came on the tour, and for those of you who missed out this time, we are hoping to hold more in the future!
