3 Prefectures of the Tohoku Region(Iwate, Miyagi, Fukushima) in Japan suffered a tremendous blow during the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred on March 11th, 2011. Fukushima suffered a particularly strong blow, due to the nuclear power plant accident that forced many people to evacuate, and fears of radiation contamination of Fukushima’s agricultural and marine products caused great damage to the local economy`.
However after 3 years passing, thanks to the great efforts of the people of Fukushima, agricultural production has returned to pre-disaster levels. Also in regards to marine products, trial fishing has confirmed that the effects of radiation contamination are decreasing. Currently you can enjoy Fukushima’s delicious rice, vegetables, and fruit without having to worry. Please enjoy Fukushima’s wonderful nature, and delicious rice.
