Last week, I was able to take part in the 2014 Fukushima Support & Exchange Tour for Chinese University Students run by Fukushima prefecture.

I first knew the name Fukushima after the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred. At that time, Fukushima faced many different dangers. The disaster damaged not only houses, bridges, and the nuclear power plant accident, but also people’s hearts.

Through participating in the tour I was able to meet many people involved in projects for the recovery of Fukushima including farmers, and students and teachers from Aizu University. Through our interactions with them, I was able to feel the determination and hard work the people of Fukushima have put into the recovery. As a University student from China, I want to do my part to help Fukushima’s recovery. I will do so by telling my family and friends about the truth of what I saw and felt in Fukushima.

Go Fukushima!
