AIZU04（Aizu-Bange Town）： A Heartwarming Sake Brewery - Akebono Brewery No.4 （Hama, Naka, Aizu!）
Finally, Mr. Suzuki treated us to a sake based liqueur, ‘Snow drop’. It was aptly named considering the season. According to Mr. Suzuki he received the license necessary to make this liqueur on March 10th 2011. The day before the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred. Sale of the product was forced back due to and the postponement of shipment of the base ingredient raw milk, and other supply difficulties; however thanks to some hard work they managed to begin sales in June of 2011. After tasting Snow drop at the brewery, all I can say is that it is delicious. Even though it is a sake based liqueur, it is easy to drink and can be recommended to those who are new to sake. The yoghurt used gives it a rich aroma, and the sweet and sour flavors come together in a spectacular balance. Lastly it has an appealing simple design. All these features combine to make what is in my eyes an excellent product.
