Dear Fukushima:
I live in Fukushima-shi and work at senior high schools. Though I have been here a short while, the kindness I’ve received from people is something I notice and experience every day, and I will never forget that. In fact, it’s one of the things I mention most often to friends and family back home. The people of Fukushima are noticeably gentle and kind, but also hardworking, determined, and passionate to educate outsiders about their home prefecture. My hope for my time in Fukushima is to become a member of the community and I believe that only happens through actual interacting with the people throughout their daily lives. In doing so, I aim to learn as much as possible during my time here so that I may bring this information back to the U.S.
