JET Study Tour Oct.2013

Summary

What is famous in Fukushima other than the Nuclear Power Plant? Are
 Fukushima’s agricultural products safe?
Can people even live in Fukushima in the first place?

Two and a half years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake caused the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
However, unfortunately the worlds knowledge of Fukushima is still filled with prejudice and misunderstanding, not only among those living outside the prefecture, but also among those living within it. This lack of proper understanding is the cause of reputational damage born from baseless fears.
The JET Study Tour was held on the 19th and 20th of October, it’s aim being to promote a correct understanding of Fukushima among CIRs and ALTs living in the prefecture.
From now on we would like to introduce the contents of the tour, through the use of articles written by tour participants.
Please look forward to these future posts!
